Monday 30th October - bike *** – Around Felixstowe including lunch by the Deben - sunny periods and mild.

We actually had a nice days weather with some nice sunshine, even managed my exercises in the back garden. Then I packed a picnic and we headed out for lunch, Mag did not want to go on any muddy tracks so we headed down to the prom at the end of our road, turning left. The tide was very high but luckily the winds were light and the sea fairly calm although there were some waves breaking especially up the concrete steps at The Dip and at Bawdsey Manor! The prom was pretty busy, several children about too, perhaps Felixstowe has a Bakers day??? At The Fludyers were turned inland for a bit across the cliff top and down the windy path to the prom, past the golf course to our spot by the River Deben enjoying the lovely quiet picnic as the tide whizzing out, the shingle bar was nearly covered and it was lumpy in front of us, a large flock of dunlins were resting on the bank:) After lunch Mag returns home while I carry onto Felixstowe Ferry were a large flock of noisy gulls were enjoying some fish scraps thrown in by the fish monger! Through the boatyard and out onto the Deben path but not before I cut my hand and ripped by cycle shorts on a post! Stopping to take my usual pics of the old yellow boat before reaching the muddy and slippery path leading to Kings Fleet, lucky Mag did not come she would have hated it! Whizzing along Marsh Lane, across The Grove and home for a welcome cuppa!
